The Hey Sister “Show me the Mobile Money” initiative is a Digital Financial Literacy Campaign funded
by USAID to build women’s capacity to adopt and use digital tools and financial services, including
mobile money. The project is more important as this time with COVID-19 affecting human interaction, it
is clear and believed that digital payments and remote delivery of financial services is more crucial than
ever and will remain so as a tool to build resilience. For these systems to be effective, end users must have
the capacity to understand and use the products and services offered by those systems. As a response to
COVID-19, Strategic Impact Advisors (SIA) has designed a specific curriculum of twenty- five lessons to
help onboard women who are either new customers by providing them with quick financial literacy
training, or women who already use DFS, and need a refresher or to learn a new skill. These twenty-five
basic lessons can easily be rolled into a longer curriculum, post-Covid-19. Contents are disseminated
through an Interactive Voice Response (“IVR”) platform and audio are available through multiple social
media platforms.
